Perform licensed DOT inspections, Preventative Maintenance inspections, light and follow-up repairs, light mechanical/hydraulic/electrical and electronic diagnostics, and other duties as assigned. Perform more advanced diagnostics and repairs under the supervision of a Sr Mobile Diesel Technician or higher. Learn additional advanced mechanical skills and diagnostic techniques; comply with all company policies and achieve high level performance metrics. Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment. Diagnose, adjust, and repair various truck equipment (electrical/brake/cooling systems, starters/alternators, engine electronics, transmissions, etc.). Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions using test instruments. Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and ensure proper operation. Manage parts inventory, operate and maintain company-issued service truck, and conduct safety checks and pre-/post-trip inspections. Communicate with clients and support teams to assess needs, provide information, resolve problems, and meet expectations. Manage concurrent tasks, prioritize work, and allocate time effectively. Document work and upload photos of work performed, parts used, and findings on RO using company-issued iOS device and TRAIT application; complete DOT forms promptly. Obtain parts from approved vendors as necessary and obtain approvals on repair estimates and purchase orders as required. Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED with 3 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; or 5 years of related experience. Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties. Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within 18 months. Must pass a DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical; a valid DOT medical card may be substituted under certain conditions. Must be at least 21 years old due to interstate commerce regulations; valid driver's license and ability to obtain/maintain Driver Qualification File. Must have a class C license. Certifications
ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months. Preferred: ASE T3 (Drivetrain), T4 (Brakes), T5 (Suspension), T6 (Electrical/Electronic), T7 (HVAC), T8/609. Skills & Abilities
Understand implications of new information for problem-solving and decision-making. Physical ability to lift, bend, climb, stand, and walk for long periods; capable of moderately heavy labor. Strong communication; ability to convey information succinctly and engage in two-way communication. Ability to determine appropriate tools and equipment, and to judge distances and problem areas. Use logic to identify strengths/weaknesses of alternatives and solutions. Compensation
USD 26.06 - 39.13 per hour. The hourly base rate may vary based on location and candidate qualifications. Position may be eligible for additional compensation (commission or incentive program). Benefits
