Tenure faculty (regardless of rank) with appointments totaling 50% or more service to the university are eligible for tenure; duties include research, service and/or teaching or clinical practice in accordance with workload guidelines. Requires a doctorate or other terminal degree in the relevant field or equivalent experience. Position Overview

The Department of Biological Chemistry and Pharmacology and the Pelotonia Institute for Immuno-Oncology (PIIO) at The Ohio State University invite applications for a tenure-track faculty member to lead an independent research program focused on structural biology and immuno-oncology with an emphasis on molecular mechanisms of immune regulation in cancer. The faculty would leverage OSU’s cryo-EM, NMR, X-ray crystallography, and computational biology resources to study protein–protein and protein–ligand interactions in immune pathways. Candidates at the rank of Associate Professor are preferred, but other ranks will be considered. Academic rank and track will be determined based on qualifications and experience, including demonstrated excellence in research, teaching, service, and leadership. Requirements

Ph.D. and/or M.D. in biochemistry, immunology, molecular biology or an associated field with expertise in structural biology, immunology, and oncology Strong record of high-impact publications and sustained extramural funding Demonstrated success in interdisciplinary collaboration and mentoring Department/Division Overview

The Department of Biological Chemistry and Pharmacology focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms of fundamental life processes. It hosts a broad range of research, education and service programs spanning basic and translational sciences. The PIIO is a bench-to-bedside research initiative focused on harnessing the body’s immune system to fight cancer, with facilities and platforms supporting translational IO research and data analytics. Ohio State is also home to the Native MS Guided Structural Biology Center, a facility advancing structural biology research with mass spectrometry technologies to study protein complexes and interactions in native-like states.
