Civil Engineer Trainee Position Overview Are you looking for interesting work in a field that can make a significant difference in the lives of Pennsylvanians? Responsibilities
Work with senior Fixed Utility Valuation Engineers and other staff to develop a working knowledge of state and federal regulatory policies and the environment as it pertains to water, wastewater, and stormwater industry and jurisdictional utilities.
Review and evaluate filings submitted by fixed utilities from an engineering perspective.
Prepare written orders, reports, memos, and other documents for internal and external stakeholders on topics related to water, wastewater, and stormwater service.
Participate in a collaborative work environment and travel for training and meetings as required.
Qualifications
Four years of civil engineering experience and an Engineer‑in‑Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; or
A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, or in a closely related field, which includes or was supplemented by major coursework in civil engineering; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes possession of an Engineer‑in‑Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists.
Applicants within three months of graduating with a qualifying degree will be considered to have met the educational requirements.
Work Schedule and Additional Information
Full‑time employment.
Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday, with a 1‑hour lunch.
Telework: Positions are located in Harrisburg. Part‑time telework is a potential feature. Successful candidates must report to the headquarters worksite daily unless telework has been approved. Telework requires a securely configured high‑speed internet connection and an approved location inside Pennsylvania.
Salary: Newly hired employees will begin at a starting annual salary of $66,328.00 before taxes.
Additional details regarding telework eligibility and procedures will be provided during the interview.
