At M.Hudson Design, we are offering an exciting opportunity for a
Senior Landscape Architect
to essentially run your own business within our established, well-supported framework. You will receive project leads from M.Hudson Design’s marketing campaigns, as well as through your own engagement within the community and the development of personal contacts and relationships. As the lead designer and primary salesperson on each project, you will have the full support of a skilled team to assist with client communications, scheduling, and other administrative tasks. This is a leadership role where you will have the opportunity to lead your own
five-person design team , which includes yourself, a Junior Designer / Landscape Architect, two Senior Drafting Professionals, and one Junior Drafting Professional. Additionally, you will have access to an in-house
photorealistic 3D rendering team
to produce stunning visuals and high-quality graphics that bring your designs to life. As part of our team, you will receive complete training on our innovative design process, enabling you to focus your time and energy on creating exceptional designs without worrying about drafting or administrative tasks. You will have the autonomy to bring your unique creativity and design talents to every project, ensuring that your signature is reflected in the work we do. Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Landscape Architect at M.Hudson Design, you will play a critical role in driving the success of our design projects, from sales and client management to leading a talented design team. Your expertise will shape both the design process and the client experience. Below are the key responsibilities for this role: Direct Sales & Client Interaction:
Meet with clients onsite to understand their needs and create tailored sales quotes for services. Meeting Sales Targets:
Achieve monthly and annual sales targets by effectively managing leads, closing new business, and maintaining ongoing client relationships. Client Onboarding & Team Coordination:
Onboard new clients and seamlessly connect them with your design team. Leading a Design Team:
Oversee your five-person design team. Project Delivery Management:
Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. Transforming Concepts into Detailed Plans:
Take design sketches and concepts and develop them into detailed technical drawings. Managing Presentation Graphics:
Oversee the development of high-quality presentation graphics. Client Communication:
Maintain clear and timely communication with clients throughout the project. Presenting Designs to Clients:
Lead online design presentations with clients. Quality Control:
Ensure that all designs and drawings produced by your team are accurate and comply with local codes and regulations. Qualifications & Skills:
Required:
An undergraduate or graduate degree in Landscape Architecture Experience leading a design and/or drafting team Proficiency in AutoCAD and LandFX Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator Proficiency in Sketchup & Lumion or other 3D modeling software Extensive knowledge of Florida planting materials Knowledge of local hardscape materials. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Strong understanding of landscape architecture principles and residential design. Ability to lead others and meet project deadlines. Preferred:
Owning or operating a small business Budgeting and cash flow management experience Leadership and management training and skills Experience Requirements:
