Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Machinist located in Berkeley, CA. The Machinist will be responsible for setting up and operating various machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments. Day-to-day tasks include reading engineering drawings, programming CNC machines, conducting test runs, and inspecting parts to ensure they meet specifications. The Machinist will also perform routine maintenance on machinery and collaborate with engineers and other team members to optimize production processes.
Qualifications
Experience in setting up and operating machine tools, including lathes and milling machines
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints
Proficiency in programming CNC machines
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
Familiarity with precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers
Excellent attention to detail and quality control
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification is a plus
