The Maywood Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and collaborative full time Special Education Teacher for a tenure-track Resource Room position at Memorial School, serving students in grades PreK–3. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in providing individualized and small-group instruction aligned with IEP goals, and a commitment to inclusive practices that support the academic and social-emotional growth of all learners.
Qualifications:
Valid New Jersey Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TOSD) endorsement or Teacher of the Handicapped (TOH) certification Valid NJ Elementary or Early Childhood Education certification (PreK–3 or K–6) Experience developing and implementing IEPs Knowledge of differentiated instruction and behavior management strategies Strong collaboration and communication skills with staff, students, and families Familiarity with data-driven instruction and progress monitoring tools
Responsibilities Include
Provide specialized instruction in a resource room setting for students in grades PreK–3 Collaborate with general education teachers, CST members, and related service providers Implement IEPs and collect data on student progress toward goals Maintain effective classroom management and a positive learning environment Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student growth Participate in IEP meetings, staff development, and school initiatives
Salary - In accordance with the Maywood Education Association negotiated agreement and commensurate with experience, salaries start at $55,534.00.
