HII Mission Technologies is seeking an experienced Avionics Engineer to support the customer at Wright Patterson AFB in Dayton, OH. The role requires understanding of DoD, Air Force, and common engineering/scientific principles to translate user requirements into weapon system requirements, and to design, develop, fabricate, test and evaluate weapons systems, subsystems, and equipment for fielding and deployment. Essential Job Responsibilities

Assist in performing technological/trade-off assessments of proposed designs/modifications and translate user requirements into system requirements used to design, develop, fabricate, test and evaluate systems and subsystems. Assist in producing or reviewing products including technical evaluations/plans; engineering studies, reports, analyses; and acquisition strategies/plans such as System Specifications; RFPs; Test Plans/Procedures/ATP; Spectrum Supportability Determinations. Support project team meetings, working groups and reviews (e.g., SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, TCM, TIM, FCA, PCA, PMR) as applicable. Assist in analyzing equipment and software deficiencies and developing, integrating, and testing deficiency solutions. Support systems analyses for avionics system design/feasibility, state-of-the-art assessments, and developing system/subsystem specifications; provide technical guidance on integration of new hardware/software. Support performance, cost, life-cycle cost, producibility, maintainability, reliability, risk assessments and scheduling trade-off studies. Minimum Qualifications

9 years relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field; 7 years with a Master’s; 4 years with a PhD or JD; or 13 years with a High School Diploma or equivalent in a related field. Experience in design and troubleshooting of avionics subsystems (e.g., EGPWS, Transponders, TCAS, ACARS, VHF/UHF/HF radios, DME, MMR, CVR). Working knowledge of NAV displays, data buses (MIL-STD-1553B, ARINC-429), test planning/conduct, sustainment and FAA/Air Force airworthiness processes. Ability to review technical documents for compliance with specifications and airworthiness requirements; summarize findings and communicate results to program offices. Experience evaluating engineering changes, pro-posals, FAA bulletins, and program risk; familiarity with related documentation. Preferred Requirements

Active Secret Clearance. FAA Designated Engineering Representative (DER) certification desirable with understanding of FAA regulations for Airworthiness Certification of Commercial and Commercial-Derivative Military Aircraft, and MIL-HDBK-516C criteria. Working knowledge of FARs, NPRMs, ADs, AMOCs; experience developing STC packages. Compensation and Benefits
