Overview
The Division of Hospitalist and General Internal Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is recruiting a full-time outpatient general internist for our growing practice. The position involves participation in a faculty group practice with eleven other internists, medical student teaching, and supervision of residents in the outpatient setting. The role aims to increase access to primary care and to continue the expansion of our practice into Baltimore County. Clinicians are expected to spend approximately 75% of clinical time in Owings Mills and/or Reisterstown, with the remainder in the Baltimore City location. The team also supports the Maryland Primary Care Program (MDPCP) through efficient and timely transitional follow-up for patients recently seen in the ED or discharged from the hospital, and will continue expanding transition of care services from hospital to outpatient settings. In addition to in-person appointments in Baltimore City and Baltimore County, telemedicine will be leveraged to increase access to care. The candidate will assist with training and co-management of patients with residents in the outpatient clinic in Baltimore City.

Qualifications Candidates must be board certified/eligible in internal medicine and eligible for an unrestricted license in the State of Maryland. This position also requires a medical degree from a recognized accredited domestic university (or foreign equivalent), a strong commitment to patient care and teaching, and the ability to work well in a team setting.

Compensation and Benefits Expected faculty rank is Assistant Professor; rank, tenure status and salary depend on qualifications and experience. Expected salary range for Assistant Professors is $171,493 (min) to $267,554 (max). The salary range reflects base pay and varies with rank and years in rank. The actual compensation may differ based on location, skills, experience, internal equity, market conditions, and other factors.
