Responsibilities
Applicants are invited to apply for the above post. We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and hard-working person to join our friendly and dedicated team.
Participate in all aspects of the Autopsy service, including mortuary and body store duties.
Work in Mortuary services with manual handling training provided and reviewed.
Maintain good communication skills as work involves a very sensitive area and supporting bereaved relatives.
Rotate across NHS Lothian Mortuary Services sites (Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, Western General Hospital, St John’s Hospital Livingston). Mortuary working hours vary by site (SJH/WGH: 8am–4pm, with 3.30pm finish on Fridays; RIE: 8.00–4.00).
Qualifications
The Level 3 Diploma in Anatomical Pathology Technology is mandatory for the post; however, individuals without the qualification are welcome to apply.
If not in possession of the Level 3 Diploma, candidates must be prepared to complete further education in combination with workplace training; the qualification will be funded.
Minimum qualifications for candidates without the Level 3 Diploma: SCQF level 8 (e.g., HND; SVQ4).

Required to participate in all aspects of the Autopsy service and support bereaved relatives.
To work in the United Kingdom, applicants must demonstrate permission to work in the country.
