First-time traveler: Yes, with CT surgery experience
Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: CABG, Valve replacement/repair, LVADs, Heart transplant, AAA repair, Carotids, Thoracic Outlet
RN: 1:3-5, acuity dependent
CNA: 1:11
Required Licensure & Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS – Resource Team requirement; PCCN - preferred
Skills & Responsibilities
Cardiology experience is required – cardiac post procedural experience of the following: CABG, Valve replacement/repair, LVADs, Heart transplant, AAA repair, Carotids, Thoracic Outlet
Titrating and non-titrating cardiac drips
Telemetry monitoring/interpretation by RN
Unit support: CNA, Unit Secretary
Charge nurse – may or may not have patients
IV/VAT Team: No
Rapid Response Team; RT 24/7
Hospitalist 24/7; Intensivist 24/7
Telemetry monitoring/tech – RN will interpret cardiac strips
Unit equipment: EMR: Epic; IV Pump: Alaris; Monitors: Philips; Zoll, bladder scanner, USGIV (training available)
