Address: 1 Medical Center Blvd, Winston-Salem, NC 27157 Licensed beds: 196 Teaching Hospital: Yes, Academic Medical Center Unit Information: Beds 24 Unit Culture: High acuity patients with high patient volumes; emphasis on patient- and family-centered care; active staff councils and committees supporting unit morale Responsibilities
Provide nursing care for patients in a high-acuity unit with trauma and pediatric considerations Support within the Department: CNA responsibilities (stocking unit, assisting transport, vital signs, patient observation), RT, Hospitalist, Intensivist coverage 24/7 Telemetry monitoring in ED settings; operate EMR (EPIC); manage IV pumps (Alaris); monitor devices (Phillips) Participate in orientation and unit-specific processes; adhere to unit schedule and shift coverage Ensure safety, teamwork, and adherence to patient- and family-centered care principles Qualifications
Minimum Years of Experience: Two years; previous trauma center experience preferred First-time traveler: Yes accepted Licensure & Certifications: BLS, PALS, TNCC Skills: Trauma experience/skills preferred; PIV placement; pediatric skills preferred Patient Ratios: RN 1:4; CNA rotating/varies Scheduling and Travel Details
Shifts: 07:30–19:30, 11:30–23:30, 15:30–03:30, 19:30–07:30 Schedule cycle: Every 6 weeks Weekend rotation: Every other weekend No on-call requirement; Holiday expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays RTO: Resource Team approval Orientation: Facility and unit orientation (NEO; 2 days departmental)
