Subcontracts Manager

for Global Electronics in

Albany, NY , you will coordinate all activities associated with subcontracting of services for multiple projects - big and small, domestic and international. Bring your experience and expertise to a company that embraces tough challenges while you provide guidance to project personnel on subcontracting issues, working closely with project management, engineering and other project disciplines. You'll be accountable for the prequalification of bidders, solicitation of proposals, proposal evaluations, source selection recommendations, development of negotiation strategies, leads negotiation of contract terms and pricing issues, conformance and finalizing of agreements, subcontract issuance and execution, supplier performance evaluation, and agreement closeout. You will report directly to the Subconsultant Project Manager for Global Electronics and report indirectly to an assigned Project Manager. As a Subcontracts Manager, you will have thorough knowledge and understanding of procurement concepts, principles and practices, and the techniques for ensuring task completion. You understand the role of procurement and its integration with other project functions, accomplish value-added expectations, and perform assignments in accordance with established policies and procedures. In this impactful role, you will Develop upfront procurement planning activities such as developing project-specific templates, reports and tools Coordinate the complete procurement life cycle for multiple projects including development of bidder lists; qualify bidders; prepare requests for quotation; conduct bid evaluations; negotiate contract terms; execute contracts and change orders (modification); supplier performance evaluation; and closeout Advise stakeholders and help them in understanding the overall Procurement process. Use critical thinking and problem solving to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of the Project’s Subcontracting efforts. Identify and advise management of subcontract-related risks. Evaluate facts surrounding subcontract-related problem areas and apply remedies to resolve them. Utilize established policies, procedures, systems, and tools. Review invoices related with subcontracts and ensure that invoices are approved in accordance with terms and conditions agreed within the agreement. Maintain subcontracting documentation in a repository. Review PO-related invoices and ensure that invoices are approved in accordance with terms and conditions agreed within the purchase order May serve as the lead buyer or purchasing coordinator on projects or tasks for business units outside of Global Electronics. Support Global Electronics leadership by assisting with project delivery services beyond procurement, such as facilities related tasks. Here's what you'll need Bachelor’s degree in business, construction, supply chain, or operations management, or equivalent project experience At least 5 years of experience in project procurement Experience using MS Office tools, including intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills The ability to work and thrive in a team environment Strong problem-solving and organizational skills A drive to solve complex and challenging problems Ability to work onsite (min. 2 days/week) in Albany/Latham, NY Ideally, you will also have Experience in Semiconductor or Advanced Facilities projects The base salary range for this position is $73,300.00 to $114,475.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
