Facilities Support Specialist

- HSC

who will perform various tasks related to room set-ups, floor care, and custodial duties. Responsibilities include cleaning offices, meeting spaces, outside areas, and various floor types; moving furniture and equipment for events; performing set-ups and breakdowns before and after events; and operating equipment to perform these tasks. Specific Duties & Responsibilities Operate designated equipment, including auto-scrubbers, burnishers, buffers, carpet extractors, and other machinery to support facility operations. Utilize automated floor cleaning equipment according to schedule for large surface areas. Perform cleaning procedures on carpets and upholstery, including shampooing, spot cleaning, and vacuuming. Maintain and restore all types of floor surfaces. Clean, sweep, vacuum, and polish floors using various tools and equipment. Clean walls, windows, blinds, vents, ceilings, and doors. Replenish supplies such as paper towels, soap, and toilet tissue as needed. Inspect the building for service issues and report damages or malfunctions. Remove trash, move furniture and equipment, and clear debris. Transport biohazard containers if needed. Remove snow, ice, and debris from exterior spaces. Maintain equipment and work areas in clean condition. Observe safety precautions when using equipment and products. Set up and break down furniture and equipment for meetings and events. Perform other duties as assigned. Customer Service Exceed customer expectations and maintain positive relationships through effective communication. Monitor events and perform duties related to refreshment or changeovers. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. One or more years of experience in event setup and custodial operations preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Respectful and courteous interaction with faculty, students, staff, and visitors. Effective teamwork and communication skills. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Operate cleaning and buffing equipment. Ascend/descend stairs regularly. Lift and move objects up to 50 lbs. Stand and move about campus continuously. Note:

This is a Bargaining Unit position. Employees are probationary for the first 90 days and become eligible for benefits afterward.
