Overview
Facilities Support Specialist II - HSC role to perform room set-ups, floor care, custodial duties, cleaning offices, meeting spaces, outside areas; move furniture and equipment for events; set up and breakdown before and after events; operate equipment. Responsibilities
Operates designated equipment (lifts, auto-scrubbers, burnishers, buffers, carpet extractors, and other larger mechanical machines) to support facility operations and clean floors. Utilize automated floor cleaning equipment according to schedule for large floor surface areas. Perform carpet and upholstery care (shampooing, damp surface cleaning, extractions, spot cleaning, vacuuming). Perform maintenance and restorative processes for various floor surface types. Clean, sweep, vacuum, and polish floors using appropriate tools and cleaning materials. Clean walls, windows, window blinds, vents, ceilings, and doors; may work from ladders or lifts. Replenish supplies (paper towels, soap, toilet tissue, linen) as required. Inspect the exterior and interior of the building for service issues and report damages to the supervisor. Remove trash from assigned areas; move furniture and equipment; transport debris and materials as needed. Transport biohazard containers if needed; remove snow, ice, and debris from exterior spaces as required. Maintain assigned equipment and work areas in clean and orderly condition; observe safety precautions when using equipment and products. Set up and remove furniture, equipment, and supplies for meetings and events; ensure a properly executed event through timely setup and breakdown. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED preferred. One or more years of experience in events setup and custodial operations. Valid driver\'s license with a good driving record. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and interact respectfully with faculty, students, staff, and visitors. Ability to work collaboratively and independently; follow oral and written instructions and diagrams. Ability to operate large powered vacuum cleaners, cleaning and buffing equipment, and other cleaning machinery. Ability to ascend/descend stairs regularly; lift, carry, or move up to 50 lbs; stand and move about campus. This is a Bargaining Unit position with a 90-day probationary period; eligible for benefits after probation. Salary and Details
