Shelter House is a reputable organization with over 100 employees committed to preventing and ending homelessness and domestic violence. About the Role

The Hypothermia Program Manager (PM) serves as a critical member of the LHSC leadership team. The PM supervises all Hypothermia Coordinators (HC). This is a temporary position during the Hypothermia season (November 15, 2025, to April 1, 2026). The PM will recruit, hire, train, schedule, provide guidance, and implement any necessary disciplinary actions. The PM will oversee shelter safety, manage cleanliness, ensure access to meals, support transportation of participants between locations, and ensure HCs provide information resources to support participants’ daily needs. The PM is responsible for accurate daily recording and reporting of participants utilizing the hypothermia program and for data reporting and communicating program needs to appropriate staff. If coverage is not available or a vacancy occurs, the position is designed with flexibility to cover. The schedule is 40 hours with a shift pattern of 4pm–8am (Monday – Friday); final schedule to be determined during the hiring process. Duties and Responsibilities

Hire, train, develop, schedule, and directly supervise all hypothermia program staff Assist the community coordinator in coordinating volunteer support with HC Collaborate to uphold safety guidance in a low-barrier sheltered environment Ensure HCs are hired, trained, and have access to necessary resources Provide guidance and support to volunteers working with the Community Coordinator Provide direction to hypothermia program staff and conduct regular one-on-one meetings Review program documentation for compliance with agency best practices Prepare and distribute monthly staff schedules; review timesheets and leave requests; adjust schedules as needed Coordinate essential personnel in safety/weather emergencies Maintain a flexible schedule and serve in an on-call capacity to address crisis issues Participate in and facilitate staff meetings and trainings Maintain knowledge of Shelter House, hypothermia, and LHSC emergency procedures Ensure facility is clean and equipment functions properly Monitor emergency procedures and coordinate monthly fire drills Monitor building cleanliness and assist HC with opening/closing; track inventory and manage supplies within program budget Collaborate with Data Quality Specialist for accurate data entry and program reports Provide direct services to program participants during scheduled shifts Ensure basic needs items and services are provided with dignity and respect Work with the Assistant Director of Programs to support staff and maintain communication Collaborate with LHSC Director to address participant disputes and complaints Safely operate Shelter House-owned vehicles to transport participants Notify management of critical incidents and complete a Critical Incident Report before shift end Ensure timely completion of observation and critical incident reports and share with relevant parties Coordinate volunteers and ensure professional conduct on site Proficiently operate a PC, fax, printer, copier, and Microsoft Office products Uphold the iCARE core values: Inclusivity, Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, and Empowerment Perform other duties as needed to support the program and agency Requirements

About You: Required: A bachelor’s degree in human services and/or operations/business management or equivalent experience 3+ years of program and/or staff management Strong public speaking and communication skills Strong written communication skills Ability to be flexible, prioritize competing priorities, and make sound judgments Valid Driver’s License Willingness to work evenings and weekends Ability to proficiently operate a PC, printer, copier, and Microsoft Office products Preferred: Experience leading/supporting programs serving homeless families Experience leading/managing in a residential environment Ability to speak a second language at a proficient level Physical Requirements: Annual TB Test is required Ability to sit or stand for long periods Ability to lift items weighing 10–20 pounds Benefits
