Title: Aerospace Supplier Quality Engineer
Unitek Technical Services provides supplier management, development, and related technical services to corporations around the world.
Main Responsibilities
Analyze & validate the reported internal supplier issues. Determine cause & responsibility by reviewing drawings or specifications & measuring parts. Notify suppliers, initiate containment, update internal systems & generate/follow up on corrective actions. Perform virtual & onsite supplier audits as needed. Address products’ paperwork issues with suppliers & maintain the systems. Maintain & generate reports/charts for metrics utilizing data mining from various support systems. Demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail with appropriate turnaround time in all internal & external communications. Apply quality tools to advance a zero-defect culture (e.g., statistical analysis, PFMEA, 8D corrective action, A3 problem solving, 5 Why analysis, Ishikawa diagrams, and Six Sigma tools). Solve a wide range of difficult problems in imaginative and practical ways and evaluate alternative solutions requiring coordination across multiple teams. Establish goals and objectives to complete projects. Prioritize tasks in a fast-paced work environment. Travel 25% or less domestically and internationally. Must Have Requirements
Interpret blueprints, specifications & work instructions. Hands-on expertise in measurement methods & tools. Data analysis & mining – Pivot charts. Root cause analysis / problem solving. Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint). Supplier quality audit experience. US Person (under ITAR rules) to be eligible. Preferred Requirements
At least 5 years’ experience in demonstrated process improvement success; proven accomplishments utilizing Lean tools/methodologies; Structured Problem Solving, 5S, Mistake-Proofing and process capability tools to drive continuous improvement. 4+ years’ experience as a Quality Engineer in Aerospace. M.S. or B.S. degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, or related job experience. APQP/PPAP background is strongly preferred but not required. Net-Inspect experience is strongly preferred but not required. Essential Commodity Experience / Requirements
