The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for administering programs, policies, and procedures for the Logistics Department, including scheduling, routing, and assignments of drivers and vehicles. This position develops and enforces logistics/transportation programs and procedures, directs vehicle scheduling, allocation, dispatching, licensing, and communications. The role conducts analyses of vehicle and driver assignments to identify efficiencies and consolidations. It coordinates with material and service providers (e.g., collision repair, fuel, maintenance, tires, fleet wash) to ensure the fleet meets federal, state, and local regulations (FMCSA, DOT). Reliable, on-site attendance is required, including participation in meetings and presentations. Serve as a point of contact for all assigned logistics staff. Develop, implement, and enforce policies and processes; administer corrective actions as needed. Monitor logistics operations to ensure driver and fleet compliance with company rules, safety procedures, and regulations. Hold drivers accountable for responsibilities and outcomes. Investigate, verify, and resolve customer complaints. Supervise material and service providers who repair and maintain company vehicles. Conduct periodic yard checks of properties where equipment is stored. Review and analyze reports (Driver Trip Reports, Metrics) for trends and recommend changes. Utilize available software for trend analysis and make data-driven recommendations. Supervise dispatching routes for donations, backhauls, line hauls, and deliveries; coordinate day-to-day routing with the Logistics Router. Organize weekly huddles with Lead Drivers and schedule quarterly meetings; ensure daily huddles before each shift; maintain attendance logs of huddle topics. Conduct staff performance reviews and disciplinary actions when needed. Conduct driver training per DOT and Houston Food Bank regulations; maintain training files; maintain fleet maintenance records per DOT/HFB regulations. Promote staff development within the logistics department. Supervisory Responsibilities
Manages one or more direct reports, providing guidance and oversight. Defines roles, responsibilities, expectations, and conducts performance management. Responsibilities include interviewing, planning, assigning, directing work, resolving problems, and supporting cross-functional project teams. Requirements

Education/Experience
High School Diploma or GED; Associate degree preferred 2+ years of supervisory/management experience 3+ years of experience in Logistics or related field Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
Must obtain Texas Class A Commercial Driver’s License within 6 months in position 3-year Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no violations DOT Physical must be passable Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and insurance Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Knowledge of motor vehicle operations, traffic rules, DOT regulations, and vehicle maintenance Knowledge of tracking and dispatch software (e.g., Samsara) Ability to learn new software systems, smartphones, and driver apps Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to operate liftgate, manual and electric pallet jack Ability to maintain records of materials, supplies, time, and work performed Ability to prepare and maintain files, reports, and records Sound judgment in decision-making Strong customer service and ability to work with diverse populations Ability to work on multiple tasks with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment Collaborative, with departments, partners, and neighbors Strong time-management, initiative, and motivation Strong problem-solving and organizational skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Compliance
