Pratt & Whitney is transforming the future of flight and is seeking people to drive it. The Operations Supervisor is responsible for the daily supervision of a team of mechanics and technicians performing maintenance, repair, and overhaul tasks on jet engines on our second shift. The supervisor ensures work is completed efficiently, safely, and in full compliance with FAA, OEM, and company regulations. Responsibilities include managing work schedules, resources, quality control, personnel issues, and financial/administrative oversight.

This position is based at the Dallas TX MRO facility and reports to the LMS Operations Team Leader. The role supervises FAA safety-sensitive employees.

Typical Hours:

2:00PM – 10:30PM, Monday – Friday. Training on first shift for up to 6 months may be required.

Key Responsibilities

Performance management: coaching, performance reviews, and handling employee relations issues as needed.

Manage workflow: coordinate and monitor maintenance projects to meet deadlines and maintain efficiency.

Quality assurance: apply Aircraft Maintenance Manual, Engine Shop Manual procedures; follow PW LMS Quality Procedures; comply with FAA/EASA Part 145; conduct inspections and ensure airworthiness.

Technical guidance: provide hands-on assistance and expertise for complex repair procedures.

Record-keeping: ensure work packages, logbooks, and maintenance records are accurately documented.

Labor management: review and approve hours; monitor labor costs for job and budget management.

Time and attendance: monitor attendance, approve time-off, manage overtime.

Expense verification: review and approve technician expense reports for accuracy and policy compliance.

Resource allocation: optimize manpower, equipment, and shop space to support schedules.

Parts management: coordinate with Materials Planning to marshal parts for builds.

Tooling management: maintain shop equipment and tooling.

Safety: enforce PPE and safety regulations; maintain a clean, orderly work environment; document and investigate incidents and corrective actions.

Supervise technicians: train and mentor aircraft mechanics and engine technicians.

Task assignment: distribute work orders based on needs and qualifications.

Operations metrics: monitor metrics and take actions to meet customer expectations.

Qualifications You Must Have

Advanced degree with 3+ years in Military, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Aerospace, or Aftermarket; OR Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience; OR Associate’s degree with 7+ years; OR High School diploma with 9+ years of relevant experience.

Qualifications We Prefer

Degree in STEM, Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain.

2+ years of Operations Leadership in a manufacturing environment.

Previous GTF, V2500, PW4000 experience and international field experience (line maintenance, engine changes, module removal/installation, LRU removals/installations).

Experience in Aftermarket Aerospace and MRO; A&P license.

Working knowledge of shop practices, quality standards, processes, and procedures.

Understanding of Lean principles and continuous improvement tools.

Experience with Microsoft Office, SAP, MRP systems; ability to communicate effectively across levels.

Role Type and Workplace This role is onsite. Candidates will learn more about role type and site status during the process. Commuting to the assigned site is the employee’s responsibility.

Compensation & Benefits : The salary range is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k), flexible spending, paid time off, holidays, and more; eligibility depends on business unit and collective-bargaining status.
