Hill House Home is seeking an experienced Retail Sales & Operations Manager to oversee our stores across the U.S. This dynamic role will balance strategic oversight of multiple store locations ensuring alignment with brand values, operational standards, and exceptional customer experiences.
The ideal candidate is a proactive and people-first leader with a passion for retail excellence. They must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth, high-expectation environment. You’ll understand and model the Hill House Home culture and drive performance — helping to build and scale the brand’s retail presence while delivering on our commitment to customer satisfaction.
This role is based in the NYC HQ office, reporting to the Director of Retail Operations. The Retail Sales & Operations Manager will directly manage the Hill House Home Store Managers and travel to support the upcoming new store openings.
Responsibilities:
Sales Leadership: Meets & Exceeds Sales Plan & KPI metrics Communications strategies and action plans to maximize the financial performance of stores in that area of responsibility Educates team on scheduling and staffing models, to maximize client experience while maintaining the proper payroll % Promotes extraordinary client experiences through leadership & training P&L management Assesses store morale, monitors, and praises positive associate performance, and resolves and documents performance issues promptly Staffing And Associate Development:
Networks in industry to recruit and hire high-quality management candidates Fills all levels of open positions within the area in an urgent and timely manner Ensures adequate staff is available to meet business needs Follows company criteria properly hiring, reviewing, coaching and promoting Managers Administers company personnel programs including appropriate performance reviews, compensation and employment records Documents employee performance in a timely manner Creates enthusiasm and excitement within store to motivate high-performance teams Operational Excellence:
Oversees stores payroll management by reviewing stores weekly schedules, salaries, and allowable hours. Oversees stores Controls, company’s assets, i.e. key control, loss prevention measures, inventory paperwork and company standards of conduct Strives for accuracy and compliance in cash, inventory, fixtures and property Store Standards:
Oversees execution of floor-sets and promotional directives; implements visual merchandising Supervises the overall cleanliness and organization of stores sales floor and backrooms Ensures stores store appearance and atmosphere supports and reinforces the brand image Understands, supports and complies with all company policies and procedures Merchandising/Visual:
Ensure execution of effective merchandising strategies and directives Ensure the selling floor is neat, clean, organized and reflects the correct visual image at all times Ensure presentation of all displays, fixtures and all visual areas are reflective of current visual direction Identify and communicate product concerns in a timely manner Communicate inventory needs to support the business goals Requirements:
The ideal candidate must have at least 3-5 years of multi-location management within a premium lifestyle, apparel, or home goods brand. Skilled in managing remote teams, with the ability to influence and guide. Successfully led store teams to exceed KPIs and financial targets through strong leadership, execution, and a customer-first mindset. You lead with empathy and clarity. You’ve built strong team cultures, improved performance through coaching, and developed managers into leaders. You're fluent in retail operations, staffing models, scheduling optimization, loss prevention, and visual merchandising. You're comfortable with regular domestic travel and managing your time effectively across multiple time zones, store needs, and seasonal priorities. What We Offer:
