Operations Support Manager
Provide support to the Regional Operations Manager in coordination and evaluation of Operations. In close coordination with BU Operations update the Coastal Schedules, provide Sailing Instructions, publish finalized schedules internally and to agencies across the region. Monitor berthing delays, long dwelling cargo, empty evacuation plans, stowage instructions etc. for efficient planning, coordination and smooth execution of operations during vessel calls. Support the Regional Operations Team in Norfolk in coordinating timely operation of ZIM ships while in port across Latin America. Liaise with terminal operators and Zim agencies across Caribbean and WCSA to minimize port waiting time and maximize port productivity. Timely preparation of reports for all shipping services calling the designated ports, recording cost savings on a weekly basis.
Main Responsibilities
Take proactive ownership of timely berthing and efficient operations at the designated ports.
Closely monitor operations across assigned Caribbean and WCSA. Review ADRs following completion of the vessel and update records.
Liaise with Operations Team in Zim agencies, MCC/Cargo flow, Equipment and Logistics and BU Operations for smooth execution of operations across the geography assigned.
Periodically review Port Waiting Time, Port Productivity and Cost development across the area and ensure optimization of results.
Requirements
Academic education: Bachelor’s Degree.
Experience: Vessel Agency work and/or Terminal Knowledge.
Experience in using Port Services and Terminal contract.
Experience in Stevedoring.
Well versed in the MS Suite of programs, especially Excel.
