Battery Algorithms Engineer

/ Engineer - Battery Algorithms Responsibilities

Work in a dynamic, cross-functional team to advance battery management features Contribute to the battery product for mass-market passenger vehicles and energy products Design and develop high quality battery controls to ensure safety and performance of vehicle battery packs in real time Design and develop accurate and robust battery algorithms and models (state of charge, state of energy, state of health) to optimize vehicle performance and customer experience Design and develop data-driven prognostic/diagnostic algorithms to detect premature battery aging and defects to prevent catastrophic failures Collaborate with controls, battery cells, embedded software, system engineering, and vehicle integration teams to define requirements and perform integration testing Verify and validate software using unit tests, hardware-in-the-loop testing, battery pack and vehicle testing Support the Battery Software department with additional duties as needed Qualifications

Knowledge of common battery chemistries such as LFP and NMC Experience with battery management systems and EV powertrains Experience with model-based software design and development tools Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink and C/C++ Knowledge of software development and validation lifecycle Experience with battery pack and vehicle testing Advantages

Knowledge of vehicle controls such as motor, onboard charger, and thermal systems Knowledge of battery estimation algorithms (SOC, SOH, SOP) Knowledge of electrochemistry and battery modeling Knowledge of AI/ML and PHM techniques applicable to engineering Working knowledge of AUTOSAR Education Requirements

Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields is required Master’s degree or PhD is preferred Salary and Benefits

The compensation range is specific to locations and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay. Base Pay Range (Annual): $128,800 - $177,100 USD Additional Compensation and Benefits: Lucid offers medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, vacation, and 401k. Eligible candidates may participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or discretionary annual incentive program, subject to program rules.
