As a Lead Engineer - Aerodynamics, you will focus on developing prediction methods and technologies to improve aerodynamic, aero-acoustic, aero-mechanical, and thermal performance for GE Aerospace products. You will perform research and development for the next generation of aircraft engine and aerospace technologies. Responsibilities

Independently or as part of a multi-disciplinary project team, lead and execute tasks to develop technologies for next generation aircraft engines. Lead and participate in high fidelity computational analyses to guide design improvements in aerodynamics, aero-mechanics and aero-acoustics. You may use both proprietary and commercial CFD and multiphysics solvers. Develop ideas and concepts to improve aerodynamic, aero-mechanical and aero-acoustic performance and operability of turbomachinery components. Patent inventions and develop a record of publication via conferences and peer reviewed journals. Lead and participate in validation & verification efforts to advance computational methodologies and/or demonstrate new technologies, including coordinating with experimentalists for high-quality data acquisition. Prepare and participate in project and technical reviews; deliver presentations, reports, and publications to GE Aerospace Research and Engineering staff as well as external agencies. Provide expertise to help resolve technical challenges across the organization. Qualifications/Requirements

Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related disciplines with at least 5 years of relevant experience. Experience and knowledge of fluid mechanics, aerodynamics, and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). Experience in meshing and using engineering simulation/analysis tools (such as CFX, Fluent and ANSYS) to model flows in aircraft engine components. Ability to investigate, model and provide critical insight into complex physical flow phenomena. Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team. Good communication skills and ability to interface with senior leaders and customers with clarity and confidence. Previous experience leading and managing projects, stakeholders and funding is a plus. Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. At least 6 years of post-PhD industrial or research experience in turbomachinery aerodynamics, aero-mechanics or aero-acoustics. Demonstrated proficiency in meshing and using CFD, high-fidelity LES or multiphysics based approaches and high-performance computing. Excellent programming skills including expertise with FORTRAN, C++ and Python. Passion for science and technology with clear evidence of innovation and creativity. Strong interpersonal and analytical skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Compensation and Benefits

The base pay range for this position is $90,000 - $175,000 USD annually. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary. This posting is expected to close on September 1, 2025.
