Military Flight Controls Division: Parker Aerospace’s MFCD provides primary and secondary flight control systems that make flight possible, with JetPipe e electrohydraulic servovalve technology used across commercial and military aircraft. Headquartered in Irvine, California, MFCD is a global leader in fly-by-wire flight control systems and electrohydraulic products.
Responsibilities MATERIALS & PROCESSES: Operate laboratory equipment (rockwell hardness, micro hardness, tensile testing, emission spectroscopy, contamination, metallurgical preparation, etc.). Use precision gauging equipment (micrometers, dial indicators, surface plate, microscopes). Prepare test reports per specifications. Demonstrate working knowledge of materials & processes specifications.
DYNAMICS: Set up and operate digital sine/random and shock test equipment (accelerometer hookups, centrifuge, oscilloscopes, hookups, oscillographs, x-y plotters). Perform post-test disassembly and assist in analysis. Interpret data and prepare activity reports. Knowledge of Mil-Std-810 and environmental testing of fuel, hydraulic, and pneumatic components.
ELECTRONIC: Design, improvise, and troubleshoot electronic circuits and instrumentation setups. Test electronic circuits using standard and specialized equipment. Knowledge of electronic principles, data acquisition, process control systems, microprocessor applications, and automatic test equipment.
MECHANICAL: Assemble components from drawings. Set up and troubleshoot experimental or limited-run assembly/test activities. Perform post-test disassembly and analysis. Use lab equipment (oscillographs, oscilloscopes, flow meters, computerized test equipment). Knowledge of fluid power systems and cryogenic materials.
CALIBRATION: Calibrate semi-complex electronic measuring and test equipment. Set up calibration test conditions, interpret procedures and schematics, document historical data, determine calibration intervals, and develop calibration procedures. Knowledge of electronic principles and calibration standards.
CUSTOMER SUPPORT: Maintain and inspect hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, and electronic products. Investigate customer reports and provide on-site technical assistance as needed. Maintain service records and ensure accurate work instructions. Coordinate corrective actions with OEM divisions.
ALL SPECIALTIES: Use hand and power tools. Maintain qualification data and daily project logs. Interface with design engineering, manufacturing, quality, and vendors. Mentor less experienced personnel.
PERFORM OTHER RELATED RESPONSIBILITIES: The essential functions are examples; assignments may be modified. Parker reserves the right to adjust duties and accommodations as needed.
Qualifications Four years of related experience, related trade or military training, or demonstrated ability to perform responsibilities.
Ability to read engineering drawings, sketches, schematics and procedures.
Basic PC and electronic console skills where applicable.
Ability to perform mathematical calculations.
Personal hand tools may be required.
May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.
Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player.
Compensation & Benefits Pay Range: $24.73/Hour to $41.22/Hour
