Project Design Mechanical Engineer, Fleet Remediation Engineering at AWS. Own the design for existing data center upgrades and design solutions which add data center infrastructure, capacity, improve availability, and/or increase sustainability. Perform design and equipment submittal reviews for data centers in your region. Interface with internal and external data center design engineering teams, server hardware teams, environmental health and safety teams, field engineering, and controls engineering to promote standards that maintain consistency and reliability in services delivered. Work on concurrent projects, sometimes in multiple geographical regions. Act as a technical subject matter expert for your discipline during new remediation projects. Support construction, commissioning, operations, and turnover. Key qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar. 3+ years of design experience with industrial or commercial engineering in mission-critical facilities (e.g., data centers, power generation, oil/gas facilities). 3+ years experience with data center builds, network engineering, and systems engineering. Preferred qualifications
Direct experience with design, construction, operation, or maintenance of mission-critical facilities, especially data centers. Experience as a resident design engineer or hands-on design consultant. Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region. Experience using web-based and other software tools for calculation and data processing. Registered Professional Engineer. Other
