Save Job

Overview At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We’re working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. This role is part of the Blue Origin Engines business unit, focusing on design, development, manufacturing, and testing of engines and propulsion systems. Our family of engines powers the next generation of rockets for commercial, civil, national security, and human spaceflight.

As part of a small, passionate team working on engine fluid controls, you will own designs from concept through qualification and be involved in all aspects of development. You will design valve components, assemblies, and tools, and collaborate with other engineers using development approaches and techniques for fluid control systems. You will partner with program leaders, systems engineers, suppliers, and test groups to select architectures and design solutions that provide the best benefit to our rocket engines. You will oversee testing of components, both on their own and within engine hot-fire tests, to ensure valves are tested with high rigor and comply with design requirements and goals. You will help define and refine best practices for engine valves and mechanisms to increase the efficiency of our design approaches and processes.

Some components you could be responsible for include: solenoid valves, pneumatically actuated valves, check valves, hydraulics, cryogenic valves, and pressurized fluid systems.
