Job Summary
The Process Control Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining DCS-based controls and advanced process control (APC) applications to enhance unit performance and optimization through process control technology deployment and support. Secondary responsibilities include assisting in control system maintenance, troubleshooting, upgrades, and supporting the alarm management program, advanced operator interface graphics, operating condition troubleshooting, and providing training on control strategies, alarm management, and HMI to Console Operators. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field. At least 2 years of experience in process control within the chemical, refining, or similar industry. Fundamental or advanced understanding of process control theory, practices, and techniques. Preferred Qualifications
Master of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Control, or related field. Knowledge of DCS technology. Job Duties
Develop and maintain control schemes to improve stability, safety, and environmental compliance. Troubleshoot controls, tune instruments, identify issues, and support operations and engineering personnel. Develop and maintain advanced process control applications to optimize unit profitability. Conduct testing, commissioning, training, and performance auditing. Support operational needs, ensuring controls and HMI are effective and reliable. Incorporate operational feedback to improve system effectiveness. Assist with system/software upgrades and troubleshoot control system problems. Perform preventive maintenance tasks. Support capital and expense projects, including reviewing strategies, planning, and implementation. Supervise project execution. Ensure safety and environmental compliance through control strategies, HMI design, and alarms, maintaining OSHA-recordable free work environment.
