Position Overview We are looking for a full-time Structural Designer to add to the team. The candidate should be fluent in AutoCAD and have the ability to produce structural designs and details for residential buildings under tight time constraints. Preferred experience includes designing buildings with steel, wood, and concrete; additional experience with mechanicals and HVAC is a plus. The ideal candidate is reliable, hardworking, a self-starter, and enjoys a challenge. You would be joining an energetic team environment in our growing Houston office with potential for development and growth.
Requirements
Excellent AutoCAD skills
2-6 years structural design experience in the building design industry
Experienced in wood-framed construction
Familiarity in building codes a plus
Understanding of building envelope requirements
Strong writing/grammar skills
Able to communicate clearly, concisely, and professionally with Architects, Builders, and Owners
Strong organization and time management skills which includes the ability to multi-task and run multiple projects concurrently
Willingness to work long days and weekends as required
Work Schedule Generally Monday – Friday day shift, however additional hours, including weekend hours, may be required in accordance with changing business needs.
