Overview

The Water/Wastewater Engineer is responsible for the planning and design of municipal water and wastewater projects, as well as representing AES to the public, and managing the Water Resource projects. This position will assist clients in planning efforts to support their water and wastewater infrastructure improvements, develop project design schedules, and mentor others. The Water/Wastewater Engineer responsibilities include producing construction documents, performing engineering calculations, liaising with project stakeholders, and assisting with bidding and construction management of completed designs. To be successful in this role, you should be able to perform tasks assigned by the Director of Civil/Environmental Engineering efficiently and timely. An outstanding Project Engineer should balance work on design projects, projects under construction, and guide the design staff to keep the water resource division running efficiently. Responsibilities

Communicate with stakeholders regarding project needs and goals. Perform water calculations, including demand, flow, and pipe sizing. Perform construction cost estimates. Coordinate scheduling of various projects and balancing of resources. Conduct cost analysis, estimating expected costs for the project. Stay current on local, state, and federal water and wastewater regulations. Ensure project compliance with federal, state, local, industry, contractual, and company regulations, standards, specifications, and best practices. Coordinate planning, construction activities, and data collection between AES and clients as needed. Perform evaluations on existing water and wastewater infrastructure. Identify and communicate with program staff and management to strategize items related to project budget forecast and budget modifications. Provide technical expertise in proposals/RFPs, contracts, design reports, agency correspondence, permits (e.g., DOT, APA, DOH, SHPO, SWPPP), specifications/construction documents, bidding, RFIs, addenda, construction contracts, change orders/directives, and contractor submittals. Collaborate with team members to support project delivery from concept through construction. Qualifications

BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an ABET-accredited program. Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience preferred but not required. EIT or PE preferred. Working knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil 3D 2020 preferred. Knowledge of HydroCAD is a plus. Experience with permit applications to local boards and state agencies is a plus. Experience with fieldwork and site observation services is a plus. Job Details
