Job Description
AECOM is seeking a highly talented Geotechnical Dam Safety Engineer to join the East Region Dams Team. This position supports Dam Safety Engineering projects across the East Region and reports to the AECOM office in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania.
Responsibilities
Assist and perform Project Manager roles such as maintaining client relationships, contracting, project planning, financial management, technical management, change management, and team management.
Provide support for construction activities including Resident Engineering services, construction observations, quality assurance, documentation, project correspondence, and client communication.
Support projects involving seepage and slope stability analyses, filter and drain design, Potential Failure Mode Analyses, Semi-Quantitative Risk Assessments, site inspections, and regulatory compliance activities for a variety of hydraulic structures.
Work with multi-disciplinary teams on Dam Safety Engineering projects.
Develop engineering proposals.
Flexibility and willingness to travel for project work part time as needed.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or related field plus 4 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Licensed as a Professional Engineer in at least one state with the ability to successfully apply for reciprocity in additional states.
Relevant experience with dams and other hydraulic structures, including rehabilitation and/or new design and construction.
Ability and desire to occasionally travel to project sites, both local and remote. Valid U.S. Driver’s License and must pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review.
U.S. Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Geotechnical Engineering.
Experience in resident engineering, construction management, project management, engineering, and related fields.
Knowledge and experience in performing inspection, design, and/or resident engineering activities in dams or water retaining structures.
