This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. We are seeking a dynamic Manufacturing Engineer to join our Operations team at Blue Origin. This role will lead the design and implementation of efficient manufacturing systems, ensure stringent quality control throughout production, and optimize supply chain logistics specific to Production/Operations. The ideal candidate will be results-driven, skilled in resource management, and committed to high-quality standards. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline operations, reduce costs, and enhance production timelines. Leveraging advanced technologies and methodologies, you will contribute to improving manufacturing techniques, ensuring Blue Origin’s continued innovation and excellence in aerospace engineering. Position Specific Details: Shifts: A | Mon-Fri (6am-2:30pm)

Relocation: Available

Potential travel up to 10% of the time for training and other support activities.

Responsibilities

Support the industrialization of new products in areas such as solar arrays, integration and test, avionics, and structures.

Contribute to design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), design for test (DFT) to build reliable vehicles for space exploration.

Translate engineering requirements into robust, repeatable manufacturing processes that support Blue Origin’s mission.

Collaborate with design engineering, quality assurance, supply chain, and production teams to accelerate building a road to space.

Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, tool designs, and inspection plans.

Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies and methods (e.g., composites, precision machining, additive manufacturing, advanced assembly).

Support root cause analysis of process or product non-conformances; develop and implement corrective actions that enhance reliability and performance.

Ensure all work aligns with applicable quality and safety standards (AS9100, ISO 9001).

Participate in process FMEAs, risk assessments, and validation of new production lines and equipment.

Identify and complete opportunities for efficiency gains and cost reduction, optimizing our ability to achieve our mission at scale.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering (other relevant fields may apply) from an accredited university

3+ years of experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or process engineering role

1+ years of experience creating English work instructions

Must be able to work second shift and have flexibility to move shifts as needed. Open to work extended hours if required.

Preferred Qualifications

Basic understanding of Lean Six Sigma principles.

General knowledge of quality and safety standards like AS9100 and ISO 9001.

Experience or internship in manufacturing engineering, preferably in aerospace or similar industries.

Some exposure to assembling and integrating aerospace vehicles or subsystems.

Familiarity with cleanroom environments.

Participation in projects related to new product introduction or production processes.

Basic understanding of mechanical design and manufacturing principles.

Interest in manufacturing automation and digital work instructions.

Familiarity with CAD software and PLM/MRP systems.

Experience in designing or using tooling and fixtures.

Ability to support basic product requirements and teamwork.

Familiarity with bill-of-materials (BOM) concepts.

Willingness to learn from and collaborate with experienced engineers and technicians.

Basic understanding of project management.

Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.

Commitment to quality, detail, and mission assurance.
