FDOT – Teen Traffic Safety . The role supports outreach coordination, program activities, and statewide teen traffic safety education initiatives in Florida.

What You’ll Do As a

Program Outreach Specialist , you will assist with the coordination of outreach efforts and administration of program activities related to teen traffic safety awareness and education initiatives. You will support the development and implementation of educational campaigns, partnerships, and materials that contribute to statewide efforts to reduce teen traffic‑related injuries and fatalities.

Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities

Coordinate outreach efforts that promote participation in the Florida Teen Safe Driving Coalition (FTSDC), including ongoing communication with FTSDC members and engagement initiatives.

Distribute teen traffic safety educational materials at events and fulfill requests via the FTSDC website; collaborate with partner agencies distributing materials during events, through FDOT subgrants, and via outreach methods such as the mailer campaign partnership with the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV).

Coordinate and manage the “Weeks of Awareness” campaigns at Florida high schools, including outreach to schools, identifying decision‑makers, explaining Coalition programs, and scheduling presentations with partner speakers.

Make proactive calls and send targeted emails to build relationships with school staff, partners, and stakeholders.

Create engaging social media and website content aligned with Coalition goals and traffic safety initiatives.

Travel occasionally to attend Coalition meetings, school events, or traffic safety conferences.

Provide general administrative support, such as preparing documents, maintaining records, and assisting with scheduling and logistics.

Assist with subgrant‑related program reporting, purchasing, receiving, and the overall procurement process.

Track outreach and engagement metrics to evaluate effectiveness and assist with preparing reports for internal and subgrant purposes.

Who We’re Looking For We’re seeking a candidate who brings not only technical expertise but also a passion for education and student success. Our ideal candidate will have:

Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university and two years of related experience.

One of the two required years of experience in an educational or non‑profit organization with a teen component is preferred.

$45,000.00 – $50,000.00
