at our Sabine Pass, TX facility (≈10 minutes from Port Arthur, TX). The role supports a transformation from an import facility to a premier LNG exporter in North America.
Essential Duties / Job Description
Lead and supervise daily mechanical maintenance activities, ensuring safety, quality, and procedural compliance.
Support technicians with pre‑job briefings, site walkdowns, and post‑job debriefs.
Enforce LOTO, work permits, JSAs, and PSMS procedures.
Address execution issues—provide direction, remove obstacles, and escalate challenges.
Allocate resources to Management of Change (MOC) and Pre‑Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR).
Hold crews accountable to Golden Pass LNG values: “We Will Work Safely or Not at All” and “Do Everything With Integrity.”
Audit field work for compliance with SSHE standards, equipment isolation, and quality specifications.
Lead After‑Action Reviews and incident investigations, identify root causes, and drive corrective actions.
Mechanical Maintenance Oversight
Direct and oversee craft technicians performing preventive and corrective maintenance on static, soft, and rotating equipment.
Oversee specialty/vendor contractors for field execution—vibration monitoring, seal replacements, overhauls, and specialty equipment repairs.
Manage testing, calibration, and actuator troubleshooting for critical isolation, control, and relief valves.
Support inspection and quality activities—integrity inspections, torquing, hydrostatic testing, NDE, thickness measurements, and corrosion monitoring.
Ensure proper handling of insulating systems and structural supports protecting equipment in cryogenic service.
Partner with Operations, Reliability, Projects, and Engineering teams to clarify priorities and sequence work effectively.
Coordinate with procurement and warehouse on goods received and material loading.
Facilitate field‑driven improvement initiatives: barrier analyses, reliability feedback loops, and best‑practice sharing.
Support Annual Maintenance Plans, budget, and schedule targets by providing field input for accurate cost estimates and performance tracking.
Team Leadership & Development
Coach, mentor, and evaluate technicians through hands‑on feedback and on‑the‑job training.
Support development and improvement of training programs and conduct capability assessments to close skill gaps.
Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and pride in workmanship.
Address personnel issues fairly and pragmatically, creating a strong team environment.

Report safety findings and improvement plans to functional leadership, ensuring transparency and accountability.

Drive continuous‑improvement projects such as barrier analyses, lean maintenance techniques, and technology trials.

Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s or associate degree in a relevant technical discipline or equivalent work experience.
5+ years of mechanical maintenance supervision (preferred).
7–10 years of required experience in petroleum, chemical manufacturing, or an LNG facility.
Preferred: LNG facility experience, cryogenic refrigeration, gas processing, and steam systems; hands‑on experience with GE Frame 7 gas turbines and centrifugal compressors.
Proven expertise with key equipment scopes—heat exchangers, pressure vessels, piping systems, valve integrity programs, welding, fabrication, structural/civil systems, marine loading arms, turbines, compressors, engines, fans/coolers, pumps, and vibration analysis fundamentals.
Familiarity with OEM preventive maintenance procedures, inspections, and performance testing.
Knowledge of fabrication, pump and compressor rebuilds, torquing, alignment, and turbines.
Ability to read and apply P&IDs, schematics, OEM manuals, and service bulletins for regular maintenance and troubleshooting.
Experience with CMMS (SAP) and SSHE regulatory procedures, work permitting practices, and quality maintenance execution standards.
Strong communication and problem‑solving skills; ability to manage during crises and make decisions under emergency conditions.
High standard setting, strong teamwork, and effective communication across organizations.
Analytical problem‑solving capabilities focusing on lowest life‑cycle cost solutions.
