Serve as a champion of process safety excellence across operations by driving a proactive safety culture through targeted training, field engagement, structured risk analysis, and leadership coaching. This role requires a dynamic communicator with strong technical expertise in process safety and a passion for empowering others to make safe, informed decisions.

Schedule Office hours M-F, 8AM - 5PM, limited OT
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Process, Mechanical, or Process Safety Engineering (or equivalent)
Minimum of 5 years of experience in the process safety discipline within the energy or petrochemical industry
Strong understanding of applicable industry standards and regulatory requirements
Preferred experience with consequence modeling tools (e.g., Phast)
Key Responsibilities Training & Development
Develop and deliver process safety training programs for Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering personnel, both in-person and via computer-based platforms
Facilitate learning sessions for field and control room operators to strengthen awareness of hazard scenarios and safeguards
Provide ongoing coaching and refresher training for Critical Safeguard (CSG) owners to reinforce accountability and performance standards
Create and present leadership-focused modules designed to strengthen process safety ownership at all levels of the organization
Lead leadership workshops and one-on-one coaching to build confidence in conducting safety conversations and initiatives
Risk Management & Technical Safety
Conduct risk screening for new and modified processes, projects, and operational changes
Lead or support structured risk assessments (e.g., What-If, Checklist, LOPA, Bowtie, Scenario-Based) to identify and evaluate potential hazards
Participate in HAZOP reviews, providing technical insights and ensuring compliance with process safety standards
Partner with Engineering and Project teams to integrate risk mitigation strategies into design and execution phase
Field Engagement & Communication
Develop and implement field-facing communication materials (e.g., visual aids, bowtie displays, digital signage, branded collateral) to promote hazard awareness
Align process safety messaging with existing Process Safety Management Systems (PSMS) and field programs
Conduct field walks and coaching sessions with site leadership to strengthen hazard recognition and reinforce a culture of safety
