Overview

Manufacturing Quality Engineering Technician, Cell Manufacturing role at Tesla. The Manufacturing Quality Engineering Technician will drive improvements to manufacturing processes and enhance understanding of cell product performance. This position involves managing the full lifecycle of quality trials, hands-on shop floor work with production tools, data analysis, reporting, and change management. Collaboration across engineering disciplines to identify and prioritize product and process failures and drive corrective and preventative actions. What You'll Do

Assist manufacturing quality engineers in quality improvement projects from concept to completion in dynamic manufacturing environments Support quality root cause investigations and resolutions related to factory-controllable issues Support FMEA activities to identify design and manufacturing issues and mitigate risks by creating defect samples for high-risk factory quality issues Assist in creating red-rabbits for new manufacturing processes and develop instructions for fault injections in mass production Help establish new inspection processes in the IPQC area, including creating instructions and conducting gage R&Rs Support quality validations during new cell launches to implement improvements and exceed build quality targets Analyze manufacturing processes and product specifications to determine best practices that meet or exceed Tesla’s quality standards What You'll Bring

0 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment Degree in a technical discipline, or equivalent experience Experience working with lithium-ion cells or high-reliability products Demonstrated ability to use a broad range of automated tools and equipment Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Proven capability to work hands-on in a shop floor environment and the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple disciplines Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal Essential Physical Demands

Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, or crouch for extended periods (up to 8 hours per shift) while conducting inspections, retrieving samples, or navigating production areas Must occasionally lift and/or move objects weighing up to 30 lbs. such as product samples, testing equipment, or materials. Frequent handling of lighter items (up to 5-10 lbs.) for measurement and analysis Ability to work in varying conditions, including exposure to moderate noise levels, dust, fumes, or temperature fluctuations typical of a production or lab setting. Ability to wear PPE, which may include a full-face respirator and coveralls as needed due to working with hazardous chemical, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and steel-toed shoes as required Benefits
