Electrical Engineer – Small Robot & Ground Vehicle Electrical Subsystem Design

This role focuses on designing and installing electrical subsystems for small robots and ground-based vehicles. You’ll work under the guidance of senior electrical and mechanical engineers to coordinate design and installations, primarily involving Drive by Wire systems. The position includes harness design, pin mapping, troubleshooting, and testing electrical systems. Responsibilities

Collaborate with engineers on routing harnesses and placing electronic modules. Program embedded modules using logical visual programming languages. Assemble and test experimental wiring harnesses and electronic modules. Troubleshoot electrical prototypes to correct functional deviations. Diagnose causes of electrical or mechanical malfunctions and perform corrective actions. Work from wiring diagrams, layout drawings, and engineering specifications. Adjust and replace defective circuitry and electronic components using hand tools and soldering iron. Test electronic units using standard equipment and analyze results. Plan, complete, and record periodic electrical testing. Recommend or initiate modifications or replacements for underperforming equipment. Perform preventive maintenance and calibration of equipment and systems. Stay updated with state‑of‑the‑art tools and software through reading, conferences, workshops, or training. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience). 5–7 years of experience in electronics systems integration and troubleshooting. Proficiency with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, protocol analyzers, and power supplies. Experience in electronic module programming. Knowledge of CAD/circuit design. Familiarity with building and testing harnesses per IPC/WHMA‑A‑620 standards. Understanding of electronics wire routing. Basic mechanical assembly knowledge. Experience using hand tools. Proficiency in Office software including Word, Excel, Outlook, and calendar tools. Preferred Experience

Hands‑on experience with Drive by Wire systems. Ability to analyze serial bus (e.g., CAN) electrical signals and data. Experience working with computer equipment, test equipment, and machine tool numerical controls. Exposure to engineering mathematics, physics, and electronic/electrical testing principles. Additional Qualifications

Ability to occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds. Comfortable working on and around heavy equipment, including climbing on/off large machines. Regularly required to sit, walk, stand, bend, and use hands for handling components. How to Apply
