Responsibilities
Lead Functional Requirement implementation, validation, and vehicle integration of Electric Power Steering (EPS) Systems with a focus on ensuring overall safe system/vehicle operation.
Perform/Lead EPS System implementation design reviews and analysis including system functionality, electro‑mechanical hardware reviews, electrical architecture, Failure Mode Avoidance (FMA), and fault management & diagnostic strategies.
Ensure Functional Safety (ISO‑26262) is met with the system design and validation.
Manage steering supplier to achieve program milestone deliverables for the overall system function.
Conduct component and vehicle level testing for steering system validation.
Lead issue investigations including vehicle data collection and root cause analysis.
Collaborate with Vehicle Engineering and Driver Assistance Feature Engineers to ensure optimal steering and feature performance.
Collaborate with Steering Software Engineer to deliver EPS system to program milestones.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering or strongly related.
2+ years of troubleshooting experience with electromechanical systems.
2+ years of experience applying engineering disciplines for failure mode avoidance.
Even better, you may have
MS degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering or strongly related.
Experience applying Systems Engineering.
Familiarity with Vector CANAPE, CANalyzer, MATLAB, and Simulink – a definite plus.
Prior D&R experience with proven track record of successful program delivery.
Experience developing and executing test plans.
Familiarity with ISO‑26262.
Demonstrated proficiency with CAN communication and databases.
Good communications and project management skills.
Strong leadership skills, passion for quality, and passion to improve customer satisfaction.
Natural and comfortable with high levels of a multi‑functional collaboration.
Effective teamwork skills.
