The Mechanical Engineer II reports directly to the Sensors Interconnects Section within the Tactical Radars and Effectors (TRE) Department. The TRE Department leads mechanical and hardware design, development, production of radar, sonar, torpedo, communication, and combat system equipment across locations in California, Arizona, Texas, and Massachusetts. What You Will Do Use mechanical and electrical flow down to design, select components, and route cables using CREO to verify cable path, volume capture, lengths, and interfaces. Use mechanical and electrical information to develop interconnections sketches, diagrams, and other engineering information to generate conceptual designs and drawings in tools such as CREO, AutoCAD, and Windchill. Process Technical Data Package release and Change Notices (CN) Qualifications You Must Have BS in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field (Electrical, Mechanical) Two (2)+ years of experience in Interconnects design Experience with the CAD design tool Creo and large assembly management Proficiency in PDM – creating action documents and coordinating document releases Demonstrated knowledge of component military specifications, standards, specifications for connectors, coaxial cables, multi-conductor cables, interconnection cable & wire and fiber-optic cables Working knowledge of Military and Commercial codes and standards for cabling and interconnects design Experience with Microsoft Office Tools such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Qualifications We Prefer Collaborate in a team environment whether in the office or working offsite. Self-motivated with strong organization skills Knowledge of manufacturing within interconnect domain, including interconnect manufacturing Excellent communication, technical writing, presentation, and interpersonal skills Advanced problem-solving skills Detailed experience using AutoCAD, CREO, CREO Routing, and CREO Schematic Proficient with Microsoft Office software; Word, PowerPoint, and Excel Previous experience includes adaptability and willingness to work varying and multiple assignments concurrently Proven ability to lead technical solutions to complex user requirements Willingness for minimal travel (domestic and international) RTX is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
