Senior Electrical Engineer - ASIC/FPGA (Onsite)
Join Collins Aerospace as a Senior Electrical Engineer to design, implement, verify, and integrate high‑performance digital ASICs and FPGAs for signal processing and information assurance products on the Product Enabling Technologies team.
What You Will Do
Capture requirements and design ASIC/FPGA digital architecture using RTL, ensuring timing closure, verification, and system integration.
Recommend new tools and practices for continuous improvement in the group’s ASIC/FPGA design flow.
Contribute to engineering estimates for new program pursuits.
Provide technical leadership for project design teams by breaking down work, planning activities, and reporting status.
Qualifications You Must Have
STEM degree and minimum 5 years of relevant experience (or 9 years if no degree); or an Advanced Degree with minimum 3 years of experience.
Experience coding and simulating RTL in VHDL or Verilog.
Strong digital circuit architecture, design trade‑offs, timing analysis, and closure skills.
Testbench development for RTL verification using VHDL or SystemVerilog.
Proficiency with ASIC/FPGA simulation and synthesis tools such as Modelsim, Synplify, Quartus, Vivado, or equivalents.
Familiarity with revision control (Git, Subversion).
Qualifications We Prefer
Experience with constrained random, functional coverage, and SystemVerilog verification techniques.
ASIC/FPGA lab validation with advanced equipment.
Design for Test (DFT) and manufacturability considerations.
Experience with Unix, scripting, C/C++, or Perl.
Ability to work independently, collaborate with engineers of diverse backgrounds, and meet aggressive schedules and milestones.
Strong oral and written communication skills for documentation and status presentation.
