This role requires a high level of welding expertise, engineering knowledge, and hands-on experience with advanced manufacturing technologies. The engineer will serve as a technical leader and subject matter expert (SME), guiding welding operations and collaborating closely with engineering, quality, and production teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Preparation and review of welding processes, instructions, standards, and specifications for intricate castings that demand exceptional precision and skill.
Leading and managing complex projects, taking ownership of initiatives focused on improving manufacturing processes and overall efficiency.
Collaboration with engineering and quality teams to ensure adherence to welding best practices and compliance with ISO and AS9100 standards.
Certifying and recertifying repair welders, providing technical direction as needed.
Troubleshooting and analyzing failures or interruptions in the welding process.
Identifying and implementing new or enhanced manufacturing technologies and processes to improve cost-effectiveness, quality, and ergonomics within the facility.
Mentorship and support of junior staff, operators, and less experienced technical personnel.
Cross-functional collaboration, including leading or participating in interdisciplinary projects requiring input from various departments.
Additional Responsibilities:
Training and development of less experienced staff.
Strict adherence to company safety, quality, and ethical standards.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering, Material Science, or Metallurgical Engineering.
Prior experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment, especially with TIG repair welding of aerospace components made from superalloy materials.
Strong practical knowledge of welding science and its application in fabrication and repair.
Familiarity with engineering blueprints and schematics.
Excellent communication, organizational skills, and computer literacy.
Compensation:
$100,000.00/yr - $115,000.00/yr, with a complete benefit package including health, life, dental, and vision insurance, and a bonus plus 401k match.
