Base pay range $80,000.00/yr - $90,000.00/yr

The ideal candidate is a creative team player who can think strategically across different media platforms and own the creation process from inception to production. You must be able to work both independently and collaboratively. This role is a freelance position based out of our NY office, with a hybrid schedule: in the office 3 days a week and 2 days remotely. The hybrid schedule is non-negotiable.

Job Responsibilities

Support trend research for seasonal decks and special projects, keeping imagery files updated with trackable references

Translate trends into concepts that respond to business needs (e.g., price points, geographic considerations) for the relevant product category

Help generate presentations, ideas and concept boards for sales teams with regular search updates, and information on emerging brands and influencers

Support and maintain color, sketch details, trim and material library by brand

Produce sketches, color ups, art ideas for each style required

Work independently to develop new areas or opportunities and create aesthetic strategies to support concepts

Work with technical design team, attending fit meetings with attention to final details

Provide mockups for projects that require a higher level of communication

Manage color and trim approvals, and communicate with team and suppliers on critical dates

Create CADs for design projects

Update all final design details and attend pre-production/fit meetings with designer and technical teams

Develop SKU-level designs from conception through revisions to sample approval; present to Head Designer for review and approval

Create presentation boards

Requirements/Qualifications

1-2 years experience in cold weather and/or accessories design team

Proven verbal and written communication skills

Clear presentation skills with ability to build concepts, with CAD/CADs, concept boards, mock ups

Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and strict deadlines

Proficient in relevant computer programs, essential use of Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop
