Manufacturing Engineer I (9-Month Temp) role at Elevate Aircraft Seating (formerly Adient Aerospace). This is an on-site position in Santa Maria, CA. Responsibilities
Carry out process improvement, problem resolution, project management, and employee training. Improve manufacturing processes and methods for cost reduction, quality improvement, and efficiency using methodologies such as Standardized Work, 5S/Visual Management, and Continuous Flow. Prepare and present plans for deployments and coordinate training of team members. Research, design, and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods, and production equipment. Analyze and optimize transactional processes such as production sequencing, material movements/transactions, and inventory control. Apply Pull and Kanban methods to reduce inventory and lead time. Prepare and maintain detailed layouts of buildings and equipment. Coordinate the manufacturing launch of new or revised products, including setting goals, training team members, and evaluating results. Monitor project tracking status to ensure timely and accurate completion. Represent manufacturing on cross-functional teams. Maintain a safe, secure, and legal work environment in accordance with company policies and procedures. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Maintain and protect the confidentiality of the company’s information and products. Perform other duties and projects as assigned or requested. Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering; Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering degree required. Level I: 0-2 years of manufacturing engineering experience; Level II: 2-5 years; Level III: 5+ years with at least 1 year of leadership or mentoring experience. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Experience with aerospace manufacturing processes. Knowledge of CATIA, AUTOCAD, and PLM software. English communication skills; bilingual in Spanish or Vietnamese is a plus. Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $80,000 - $85,000 annually. Elevate Aircraft Seating offers competitive wages and benefits. The base pay varies based on knowledge, skills, location, experience, and internal equity.
