Summary
University Mechanical is currently seeking an experienced
Mechanical Construction Project Manager
for our San Diego, CA location. Backed by nearly a century of customer care and ownership, UMEC adheres to the highest safety standards. We offer industry-leading BIM capabilities, design/build services, sustainable solutions, commercial HVAC services, and complex mechanical and industrial system installations. This role will lead mechanical construction projects safely, on time, and within budget across various markets including Healthcare, Life Science, Commercial, and Industrial.
Compensation Range:
$100K - 150K
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure safety of field personnel assigned to projects.
Manage field labor productivity, quality assurance, and coordination.
Oversee project financial outcomes, projections, and reporting.
Handle material and equipment procurement, change order management.
Maintain owner/client relations and project cash flow.
Manage personnel and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Must have 5-7 years of construction-related experience or a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management. Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily is required.
Computer Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Works, Project, Access, PowerPoint), Bluebeam Revu, Vista-Viewpoint, and Quotesoft Estimating Software.
Required Attributes
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
Basic business mathematical skills.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Effective time and detail management.
Ability to interpret various instructions and organize technical data.
