Job Overview/Summary
The Quality Laboratory Chemist performs critical testing and analytical functions including Release, Stability, and Special Request testing of raw materials and finished products. The role involves the operation of various laboratory instrumentation, maintenance of safety standards, and adherence to SOPs and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
Perform Release, Stability, and Special Request testing following SOPs and in-house or compendial methods Independently execute test procedures with minimal supervision Adapt to schedule changes and contribute to laboratory process improvements Assist with training of new lab personnel; document all training per SOP and training guidelines Maintain safety-first mindset; ensure equipment is calibrated and properly maintained Operate instrumentation including but not limited to HPLC, GC, UV/Vis, FTIR, automated titrators, polarimeter, dissolution testers, and balances Stay updated with regulations from USP, FDA, ISO 17025, etc., and ensure compliance with documentation and test method practices Participate in laboratory investigations, including Out-Of-Specification (OOS) results as needed Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to support company goals Execute assigned projects on time while managing daily responsibilities Maintain consistent attendance and meet productivity expectations
Primary Skills
Analytical testing (HPLC, GC, UV/Vis, FTIR, etc.) Adherence to SOPs and regulatory guidelines Documentation and laboratory investigation skills Training and mentoring support
Secondary Skills (Good To Have)
ISO 17025 method knowledge USP/FDA compliance familiarity Adaptability to lab scheduling and workflow improvements
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related science field preferred Experience with laboratory instrumentation and chemical analysis methods Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols Flexibility and willingness to train on new instruments and methods
