This Position reports to: Director of R&D - Engineer To Order
As an intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience through various projects. Each day, you will acquire knowledge by performing tasks as directed. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting ABB's operations and enhancing personal education/employment opportunities.
Responsibilities
Demonstrates solid competence in technologies, tools and methods through solving complex problems.
Capable of modeling and using electrical design software.
Capable of learning to design electric motors.
Analyze the effect of design or design changes on other components.
Actively seeks and implements initiatives to improve motor designs.
Work with other departments to solve related problems.
Analyze motor test data.
Be an active member of a design team.
Capable of working in a team environment.
Capable of learning to operate FEA design programs.
Qualifications
Currently in their sophomore year enrolled in a bachelor's Electrical Engineering degree program in the United States, and graduating between Dec 2026 and June 2028.
Strong communication skills to work with Sales, Marketing, Customers, and Manufacturing.
Strong team skills are required, but you must also be able to work independently.
Desire to learn and grow from a diverse set of experiences and people.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
A growth mindset focused on continual learning and improvement.
Must have valid US work authorization and must not require sponsorship for an employment visa by ABB at any time in the future.

The hourly rate is determined by qualifications, graduation year and experience. This position is expected to pay between $20 - $34 per hour.
