Job Summary
Senior Electrical Designer / BIM Lead at Jacobs. The role delivers complex electrical power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and communication system designs for advanced facilities including semiconductor manufacturing, data center facilities, and other state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing and research facilities.
Location Hybrid position in Pittsburgh, PA. Well‑qualified candidates located in the U.S. will also be considered.
Base Pay Range $80,600.00 / yr – $125,000.00 / yr.
Responsibilities
Design electrical power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and communication systems using AutoCAD and Revit MEP.
Create 3‑D BIM models and design layouts, single‑lines, power plans, installation details, grounding plans, and cable schedules.
Perform clash detection, identify types of clashes, review clash report numbers, and discuss findings during internal meetings.
Perform power calculations and apply NEC and other standards to model content at direction of engineering staff.
Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent.
At least 10 years of relevant experience in design utilizing 3‑D modeling / drafting.
At least 5 years of design experience with Revit.
At least 5 years of experience as a BIM lead.
Knowledge of NEC and electrical design requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate’s degree in relevant field.
At least three years of semiconductor, data center, or mission‑critical design experience.
