Commercial Field Service Technician , you will report to the Field Manager and provide diagnostic, troubleshooting, preventive, and corrective maintenance services to Tesla's energy products, including but not limited to: commercial solar PV systems, batteries such as Powerpacks and Megapacks, and electric vehicle charging stations. The
Field Energy Operations
team is responsible for the ongoing success of Tesla's leading fleet of energy products. As part of our team, you will be empowered to collaborate across the entire Tesla organization to solve problems and ensure the success of our commercial energy field service operations. Working cross-functionally with field service technicians, electricians, environment and operations personnel, health and safety teams, and field service leadership, you will leverage your hands-on knowledge and experience to ensure a positive customer experience and the optimal performance of Tesla's commercial products.
What You'll Do
Perform preventive maintenance on commercial inverters to maintain warranty coverage. Respond to corrective maintenance cases on solar PV, energy storage systems, vehicle charging stations, and update online case logs accurately. Attend inverter training schools and demonstrate outstanding performance. Collaborate with the Operations Engineering Systems Reliability team to respond to open cases and provide data as needed. Write reports to fulfill deliverables in commercial operations & maintenance contracts. Address customer concerns regarding system performance or functionality. Maintain company property, including vehicles, tools, electronics, and software.
What You'll Bring
Electrical trades experience, especially troubleshooting power electronics and low voltage controls. Experience with power/hand tools, electrical equipment, isolation meters, and multimeters. Ability to navigate various computer applications independently. Flexibility to work weekends, overtime, and overnight stays to support Tesla's mission. Ability to travel daily to multiple sites and up to two weeks at a time with short notice; must have valid government-issued ID for travel and access to federal facilities. Valid driver's license. Ability to work at heights, in extreme environments, perform repetitive tasks, and lift at least 50 pounds frequently.
