An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Field Service Engineer – Integrated Control System (ICS). As a System Engineer for IC‑S, you will provide technical support on automation systems delivered by Kongsberg Maritime, including power management, fire & gas, emergency shutdown, custody transfer, gas management, and other automation upgrades, modifications and after‑sale services.

Key Accountabilities

Serve onboard vessels with KM systems.

Troubleshoot via phone and email support lines.

Execute service assignments as requested by the customer.

Complete service reports, timesheets and expense reports in a timely manner per work order.

Update As‑Built documentation and drawings.

Pursue professional development through internal and external training courses.

Support sales and marketing with technical information.

Interface with both customer and internal engineering groups.

Travel up to 50‑70%.

Key Responsibilities

Provide preventative and corrective maintenance to Kongsberg control systems.

Read and interpret drawings and control system architecture.

Use multimeter/SW tools for troubleshooting communication or loop errors.

Understand power management systems, generator and governor control functionality.

Troubleshoot and modify HVAC and fire & gas control systems (Autronica).

Add or modify control logic as needed.

Familiar with communication protocols (Profibus, TCP/IP, Modbus, etc.).

Submit timesheets and expenses in a timely fashion.

Own assigned cases and service trips.

Suggest product improvements and report needs to the Service Manager or product department.

Proactively recommend upgrades or new products to customers onboard.

Prevent errors within our delivery and after‑sales processes.

Support key support managers with aftersales quotations.

Basic Qualifications

Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Electromechanical, or Computer Engineering or equivalent industry/military training.

Knowledge of general electrical/electronic control system concepts such as PID controllers, filters, communication protocols.

Ability to produce and interpret technical documentation.

Skill in troubleshooting low‑voltage electrical components and use of multimeters.

Experience with PLC/SCADA systems and their architecture is highly desired.

Customer service oriented.

Able to work under pressure.

Good communication skills and fluency in English.
