role at
Global Edge Group . An outstanding opportunity exists for a skilled and seasoned
Electrical Specialist
to join a leading team at the forefront of energy production. We are seeking a professional with a passion for
electrical reliability , troubleshooting, and technical mentorship. This is a unique chance to transition from hands-on fieldwork to a strategic, leadership-focused role that directly impacts plant safety and long-term operational excellence. Sabine, TX - ($88 per hour), plus FREE Employee Medical Insurance, PTO, 401K, and option to extend 12 month Contract, or transition to direct.
The electrical specialist role requires a deep understanding of electrical standards, failure analysis, and preventive maintenance practices. The role is a mix of 60% troubleshooting and 40% mentoring and consulting with technicians and engineering, representing the minimum expectation for this split across all specialist roles. No direct fieldwork is involved; instead, the specialist provides recommendations and guidance, such as suggesting parameters for technicians to investigate, who then follow procedures. This role functions as a maintenance engineering position, supporting both maintenance and long-term reliability improvement initiatives. The electrical specialist typically spends more time in the office compared to other specialists. Due to the nature of high-voltage electrical systems, the role involves a 50/50 mix of hands-on experience (looking at switchgear and failed components) and technical consulting/analysis of the distribution system from a desk. Programming experience is typically not required. Candidates with experience from electrical distribution centers or control rooms are considered. Major electrical systems include switchgear and electrical distribution, with very minor involvement with motors, focusing more on the generation and distribution of electricity. The specialist is expected to conduct formal training sessions and provide on-the-job coaching to maintenance technicians. Role Requirements and Preferences
Candidates for all specialist roles are strongly preferred to have oil and gas or LNG industry experience; those without it are unlikely to be interviewed. The electrical specialist role typically requires 5-10 years of experience, with a senior specialist (30 years experience) available to provide training and mentorship. Offshore oil and gas project experience is considered relevant. Global Edge Group, LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
