is seeking qualified candidates for an
Electrical/Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Engineer
opportunity in
Knoxville, TN . This position will work with a nuclear engineering consulting firm that provides products and services to measure instrumentation and control system performance in nuclear power plants worldwide. Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) testing and electrical/electronic engineering are integral to ensuring the safe and reliable operation of nuclear facilities. The role involves designing test plans, performing testing and troubleshooting, analyzing results, and preparing technical documentation in accordance with the Company’s Quality Assurance (QA) program. Collaboration with other departments, including software development, to improve EMC testing and reporting is also expected. Desired Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field 5+ years of relevant experience Experience with MIL-STD-461 and/or IEC 61000 series tests Knowledge of spectrum analyzers, EMI receivers, oscilloscopes, RF amplifiers, and vector network analyzers Experience developing EMC test plans and reports Understanding of EMC equipment calibration and measurement uncertainty analysis Responsibilities
Develop and perform EMC qualification testing in laboratory and field settings Use specialized hardware and software to characterize electromagnetic environments Troubleshoot EMI/RFI issues and mitigate noise Analyze test results and provide justifications when troubleshooting is not feasible Prepare technical documentation Conduct R&D activities related to EMC Collaborate with software developers to enhance testing and reporting capabilities Travel 5-10 times per year for field testing at nuclear power plants and other facilities Other Requirements
