Job Title:
Packaging Engineer II – Medical Device
Location:
Lafayette, Colorado (Fully Onsite)
Type:
W2 contract
Duration:
12 months
Responsibilities
Prepare packaging validation protocols and reports to support packaging changes per ISO 11607 and ASTM standards.
Perform packaging validation testing to support changes.
Lead material qualifications for packaging changes such as resin material changes.
Create and update packaging specifications for manufacturing.
Assist in artwork creation and revisions for product packaging.
Operate various testing apparatus in qualifying packaging changes.
Create sterilization pallet patterns as well as non-sterile pallet patterns for manufacturing locations.
Ensure on time delivery to Project Engineering and R&D schedules and plans.
Prepares monthly progress reports on projects.
Provide technical support and training to manufacturing in regards to packaging systems and machinery.
Identify and lead cost reduction opportunities (>$100K) in regards to Packaging.
Assist in mentoring of junior engineers.
Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in Packaging, Biomedical, Mechanical, or related field.
Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in packaging engineering, or advanced degree with minimum 2 years relevant experience.
Experience with ISO-11607, Design Control, root cause analysis / CAPA, 6 Sigma and Lean Principles.
Knowledge of packaging materials & sterilization processes, supply chain.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to plan and document projects effectively.
Nice to Have
Advanced knowledge of root cause analysis / CAPA, 6 Sigma and Lean Principles.
Experience in developing knowledge in supply chain.
Effective communication skills with superiors, peers and subordinates.
